Chris Kenny (Chief Executive - lay)

Chris KennyChris Kenny took up post as the inaugural Chief Executive of the Legal Services Board in January 2009. His early career was in the Department of Health and the Treasury, where he held a variety of policy and management posts including Principal Private Secretary to the Secretary of State. As Oftel's Director of Regulatory Policy and then Director of Compliance between 2000 and 2003, he worked on access and competition issues in the communications industry and led the initiative to establish the Telecoms Ombudsman. As Director of Life and Pensions for the Association of British Insurers from 2004 to 2006, he led the industry's input into pensions strategy and a wide range of consumer issues. From 2007 to 2008, he managed the detailed work on Lord Hunt of Wirral’s independent review of the Financial Ombudsman Service. Chris is a non-executive Director of Ombudsman Services Ltd, which provides ADR services to the telecoms, energy, property and copyright licensing industries, and has also held non-executive posts in the NHS and third sector.
