Our Board

This section includes biographies for each of the Members of the Legal Services Board, including the Chair, other Ordinary Members and the Chief Executive. You can also find the LSB Governance Manual and information about the Board's interests and expenses, Board Meetings and Board committees.

The Board has eight Ordinary Members, comprising the Chairman and the other Members. The Chief Executive also sits on the Board.

The Chair of the Legal Services Board is David Edmonds CBE. David took up post on 1 May 2008 for a three-year term. The Lord Chancellor re-appointed David as Chair for the period 1 May 2011 to 30 April 2014.

The other Ordinary Members were appointed from 1 September 2008, serving three year terms. The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Justice on behalf of the Lord Chancellor re-appointed seven of the other eight Ordinary Members of the Board. The appointments are for the period 1 September 2011 to 31 March 2013 / 2014 / 2015. The Lord Chancellor also appointed Edward Nally as an Ordinary Member for the period 14 February 2011 to 31 March 2015. All (re-)appointments were made in consultation with the Lord Chief Justice.
