Nicole Smith (Member - lay)

Nicole has a portfolio of roles in the public sector, focused on consumer and legal affairs. She is an Ombudsman for the Financial Ombudsman Service, an Assistant Commissioner at the Parliamentary Boundary Commission for England, a Chair of Selection Panels for the Judicial Appointments Commission and a Lay Member of the Investigating Committee of the Nursing & Midwifery Council. Nicole is also Director of a small management consultancy providing strategy advice to organisations in the public and voluntary sectors. Previously, she was Deputy Chief Executive at the Electoral Commission, following an earlier career in policy, research and management roles at the Home Office, the Constitution Unit and the Royal National Institute for the Blind.
