Research
The LSB has published its Research Programme – setting out its priorities for the research focus. The LSB is committed to ensuring all policy that we develop is fully informed by relevant and robust evidence. We have developed a robust research programme with external input and partnerships from a range of players in the industry and academia, ensuring that the best evidence is in place to meet our regulatory objectives as set out in the Legal Services Act 2007.
Our approach to research at the LSB is outlined in our Research Strategy . We are committed to always being fully transparent over the research we commission and any results produced. The annual research priorities are designed both to meet short-term needs for evidence and to build a long-run strategy to ensure effective regulation of legal services. Each year we will consult extensively with stakeholders in developing a research programme that builds on existing evidence and best meets our short-term priorities and long-term regulatory objectives.
The LSB work programme for 2011/12 covers the following four areas:
- Market Segmentation
- LSB literature reviews
- Evaluation evidence
- Complaints
