Developing a strategy for legal services

The Legal Services Board is developing a three-year strategy for the legal services sector for 2021-24.

We’re encouraging partners and stakeholders within legal services and beyond to reflect on what has been achieved in the past 10 years of legal services regulation, and more importantly we’re trying to build consensus about the most important areas for the future. Whether you’re a legal professional, academic, researcher, or work for a not for profit organisation, we would like to hear from you.

In response to Covid-19, we will be rescheduling our planned engagement events over the next few months to late summer and early autumn to capture a range of perspectives on legal services in England and Wales, including our collaborative evidence sessions, stakeholder summit and regional events. We remain committed to collecting views through virtual meetings over the next few months.

We plan to publish a State of the Legal Sector report in the autumn of 2020 and to seek views through a public consultation on both a draft strategy and LSB business plan for 2021-22 at the end of 2020.

The strategy and business plan are due to be published in March 2021.

We would love to hear your views on what are the priorities for legal services? What is working well and what needs to change? Use the form below to share your views or any evidence that you would like us to consider or email strategy@legalservicesboard.org.uk.
