BSB application to become a Licensing Authority
Status (19 May 2016):
The LSB has now made its decision and has sent a recommendation to the Lord Chancellor.

Schedule 10, 13(1) of the Legal Services Act requires that the LSB must give a decision on an application being made to the Board. This can be extended to no more than 16 months (Schd 10, 13(4)).

The LSB is granting the application. Please see our Decision Notice for more information. The rules that are approved are the BSB’s Handbook which includes the licensing rules a licensed body must adhere to.
